Help! need guidance!!

Howdy all I am hoping someone can lend a degree of guidance here. I have just finished watching ‘They were expendable’ and have a burning desire to build a PT boat! I know Revell did PT 109 in 1/72 and was wondering if there were any other kits of a PT boat available? If so what kit is the best? I would rather stick to 72 scale or as close as I can.
Most of my building has been aircraft and car models so I’m a little lost in the big bad sea!
Any help would be most appreciated, Thanks
Doc.

BlueJacket ShipCrafters have a kit of the 80’ Elco PT Boat with a solid wood hull. It is not inexpensive at $249 but it is a magnificent kit. See www.blujacketinc.com

Al Blevins

Lindbergh makes 1/72 kit.
AIFAIK White Ensign Models, UK will be setting up PE for Revell’s PT109.

Another good thing about the 1/72 revell or lindberg boat is that when you are doing research on PT boats and see some of them mounting an army 37mm AT gun on the bow or some other weapon they scrounged up for more firepower you can get 1/72 scale armor kits of such guns. Makes for interesting modeling hey?

I was just looking through a VLS catalog and they list Trumpeter as having two 1/72 scale PT boats. PT150 or PT815, twenty bucks. part no. TZ81101 & TZ81102,
