[oops]Man,I just spent $26 on a decal sheet to get one airplane, and then realized I’ve got the wrong kit! [banghead][#oops][censored]
I was planning on building a P-40 for my club’s contest(20th Anniversary,on March 24) that is matte black and gloss red(Stud,of the 325th FG).Found a sheet with the correct decals, only to realize after the purchase that the aircraft I want build is a P-40F,and I’ve only got P-40E’s![banghead][X-)][banghead]Obviously won’t make it to this one.
Does anybody know where I can find a P-40F in 1/48?
Great Models Webstore lists the Hobby Craft P-40F in 1/48 and if you search ebay for “1/48 AMT” you will find at least three P-40Fs there. I think the AMT kit is the better kit to work with.
Ditto what Swanny said. I just bought a AMT -F off of Ebay, and lost out on another auction to buy two of the AMTech versions. If you can, get the AMTech version, which has a corrected resin nose with the kit. I believe the aircraft on the box of the AMTech kit is “Ace of Pearls”. The AMT boxing has “Gwenn” (Y4-4) on the cover.
