Help for a Clankity-Clank

OK guys! I’m finally breaking down and looking at building a “pretty bird” after many years of building “targets”.

I’m looking at two Tamiya kits: the A1 SkyRaider and the japanese “Frank” fighter. Which is the better kit from a building standpoint. Remember, simple words in short sentences. Gotta keep it simple! I need the pros and cons of both.

Thanks in advance!

What scale? theres reviews on modeling madness for both

Personally I would rank the Skyraider as the better kit. The Frank is a good kit, but one of Tamiya’s early efforts. If you want a Frank, I’d go with the superior Hasegawa kit.

I agree with Rick, go for the Skyraider. Excellent kit, and it just looks so mean with all of that ordnance hangin’ underneath.

Sorry guys…I forgot to mention that both kits are in 1/48th.

I’m kinda leaning the the direction of the SkyRaider. Seems like there are a lot more options are far as paint and decals go.

I’ll keep an eye out here for other ideas and will post more questions as they come to mind.

i’d go for the skyraider unless the other kit is very cheap and price is an issue. tams skyraider is sweet straight from the box but check your references for the ordnance-not all of it will be correct for the era/service you choose.if in doubt, leave it off til you find out what you need. i backdated my monogram skyraider to a korean war era aircraft and armed it with rockets from the amt tigercat kit and some ww2 era bombs. squadron/signal’s in action book is a cheap, one stop reference. post a picture when you’re done. hope this helps- s.
