Help Finding V2 Rocket Meillerwagen Plans

I know this is for aircraft, but a rocket is aircraft, right? I want to scratch build a meillerwagen for my V2. This is the transport trailer used to get them out to the launch pads. There is very little online about them, just pictures but no technical images, or drawings. So if anyone knows where, or who may have a drawing, or technical information please PM me with the details. Someone who has a model of one could measure it, maybe. Thanks

To get you measurements they will need to know what scale you plan on building the V2 in. I assume 1/72 scale. Also the rocket trailer could be assembled out of styrene stock going with the saying:

If it looks right it is.

Not may people or contest judges will know the exact measurements of this transporter. There may have been a few designs as it was not assembly line produced, needed only in limited numbers at various facilities.

I was just at the National Museum of the USAF and they have a V2 on its Meillerwagen, alas I didn’t take any pictures of it. However, there is a page with a couple of pictures on the Museum’s website:

V-2 with Meillerwagen

Maybe that will help just a bit…

Best regards,

Mike

Thanks but, I have done extensive research on this subject, The V 2, and have found that only one model of the meillerwagen is made in scale, and that’s 1/72nd, in resin at an unreal price. I want to build a 1/35th version for my V 2 rocket. I am beginning to think these were not production items but built as needed onsite. Since they had all kinds of slave laborers on hand they could order whatever they wanted and get it pronto. I hope someone who has a copy of this in scale could respond so we can talk.

I remember building a 1/72 - ish V2 with Interior detail & trailer possibly by Revell, chiefly remembered by me for getting more paint on me & mum’s table-cloth than on the rocket. [;)]

You could use this as a starting point, apparently it’s the same kit in different releases.

EDIT: 1/69 (1961 box scale) here: http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/670_1_105125802.html

EDIT: 1/54 (1994 & earlier) Revell History Makers 1/54th scale V-2 kit

Sheds of info here, inc 2 different trailers in several scales.

Good luck!

Thanks, I completely discounted that CMK site as it is in 1/72nd… That’s a scale too small for me to see. Those attended photos will go a long way. Now if I could only figure out the measurements of it in 1/72, I could bump it up to 1/35. Oh well another challenge.

I don’t know of any drawings, but you might have better luck posting in Armoramas’ Wingy thingy’ bit, they might know better [;)] http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/

Otherwise the way to go will be to get the Revell/CMK offering, (whatever you can get) measure it up, build, then sell the measurement donor on.

One of those less ‘maths challenged’ will be able to work out the conversion ratios

Thank you for all the suggestions. I have decided to scrap the Meillerwagen in favor of a Vidalwagen. I know there is even less information on that, but, I got some images from CMK and did an image search. So, with all that there is to see on it I made some pretty nice CAD images to use as a guide when I build it. Thanks for the interest gys
