Hi Guys ! I would like to purchase an airbrush suited for fine lines detailing such as luftwaffa squigel and soft demacration edges on camouflage. I’m either going to go for a badger 100 g or an iwata custom micron. I realise the iwata is more expensive ( which i’m willing to pay )so i’m woundering how does the badger compare? Will it give excellent results or is an iwata simply the best .
I’m a vetran airbrusher using the aztek a 470 (which i may just continue to use for general spraying)and i want to have a more reliable better quality airbrush .
The 100g is that single or double action? If you’re looking at double action, have you considered the Badger 155 (Anthem)? I just got one about a month ago, and I can spray 1mm lines with no problem, when the paint is thinned properly and the pressure is right. Ask MikeV about the badger, he has several of them.
The Iwata is good, but do you need all that extra airbrush? It’s kinda like buying 109 octane racing gasoline for driving around town.
The 100G is a double action gravity fed AB with a mid sized color cup. Its a wonderfull tool capable of spray lines tighter then most people skill will allow. If you were to get 1 the aztec would be boxed and forgotten in day or 2. I know Ive forgotten about my other ABs. Good luck with your descision either way you wont go wrong.
If you do get an Iwata though, you don’t have to go into custom micron world. An Eclipse will do what you want to do. I’ve had an Eclipse before, so that’s why I’m sure of what it is capable of. I don’t have a Badger 100 though, but I’m sure it is equal in performance to an Eclipse. The 100 has an awesome reputation.
