If you can narrow it down to a vehicle type, or country, say US or Germany, it would be much easier to answer your question. You got good info on the DML Shermans in your other post. Almost all of the DML kits are good. It really depands on what you want to build. Also, what do you mean by best? Ease of construction. Most accurate. Most detailed. Best value. Most complete. Most extras. etc., etc…
Sorry HeavyArty you are right, I should of been more specific. When I refer to “best” I mean ease of construction for sure the tracks, this will be my first time doing a kit with Indy tracks.
The following are on sale at my hobby store:
- DML M4A1 Early
- DML T34 1941
- DML Hetzer (is this kit any good? Kind of old right?)
Their Panzer I B is quite good. I’m building one right now and so far I havent had any problems. The only - that I can see is the 6 attachment points per link[xx(]
Most new DML kits are very good. I would recommend something other than a tank for a beginner such as a halftrack-although a Sherman wouldn’t be too bad (just to avoid tons of road wheels-or indy tracks).
For no zimmerit the Tiger I initial as the indy links tracks aren’t too fiddly for Tiger I’s…if you don’t mind zimmerit the Panther A late, again easy indy link tracks.
I disagree that a half track would be good for a beginner. The interior means more detail and areas to fumble around in. Among the kits you mentioned, the T34/76 1941 is one of the best 1/35 kits available IMHO (even though I’m a SHerman freak). The T34’s link to link tracks are the easiest among the three as well.
Go with this one, hands down!
you cauld try the new Dragon Jagdtiger, nice big kit with nice extras

I am just starting the T 34/76 1941. Very easy build with an excellent fit, and very easy to deal with the painting. Of the 3 you mentioned, this would be my choice, especially if you are interested in the eastern front.

Thanks to all of you for all your replies and advice. Today I picked up the M4A1 Early and the T-34.
I started the sherman this evening and ran into a snag, I have posted another topic titled “PLEASE HELP!!! M4A1 75mm Kit #6048”
