Help a museum?

Hi Friends,

Can any of you good people help me? I am currently attempting to portray the history of aerial warfare in 1:72 scale for an aviation museum (please see my post in the ‘Intoduce yourself’ section). I am desperatly looking for decals relating to the lesser known aerial conflicts (i.e. Soviet-Polish War 1920, Gran Chaco War and the ‘Soccer War 1969’ and other such unknowns). Due to space limitations i can only model the smaller types (i.e. no bombers or transports).

Anyone out there willing to empty out there decal boxes?

Many thanks,

Steve Thorpe

Don’t have any decals to give because i can’t find any of them. I just kept them in the boxes and i think my mom threw them out when i wasn’t looking when we renovated the house. [:p]

On the other hand, if you are going to do a number of them, you might concider doing them yourself. I think there’s a thread here dealing with that… sorry i couldn’t be of any more help.

Steve I agree with Shrikes, you are probably looking for items that may not even be available. You mitght Have to make your own. I have never heard of any of those except for the Soccer War. I don’t know of anything to help you with. But get some photos, study them well and do your best if they are not in color to figure out what paint colors you need and go from there. Where is the museum you are helping? See if others in your area or farther away can help. You have a great forum here to rely on, someone here should be able to help you in some way. Check records if you can get them as far as that goes I don’t know, they may be hard to obtain. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

And by the way Welcome to our forum. Great to have you aboard.

There are companies (cottage industries) that produce custom decals to scale. You will have to provide photographs, art work, etc. Search the web for custom decals. I’ve had excellent luck with Mike Grant - www.mikegrantdesign.com/decals He’s great to work with and his prices are reasonable.
