Hello

Dear FSM readers,

I’m Maxwell Alvarez from the Philippines and I am a high school history teacher. I’ve been working on models since I was a kid in 1975. I’ve acquire an eclectic collection of tanks, planes, ships and figures that most I’ve run out of shelf space at home. There are a couple of topics that interest me but have been very hard to make due to a lack of models. The Philippines was invaded right after Pearl Harbor and Filipino and American troops fought for five months before capitulating. Much has been written about their stand but very few models can be found on the early Philippine campaign. Academy came up with Colin Kelly’s B-17 and early M3-Stuart but I can’t even find a 1/35 figure of American Infantry and Marine Corps on sale. I’ve also been looking for any models on the gun batteries of Corregidor.
Sometimes I find myself kitbashing British infantry helmets and mating them with approximations of American infantry figures. Does anybody have any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.
