Hello from sunny Somerset, England

Hi all, like so many have returned to model making after a 30year break! Amazing to see all the great kits, amazing techniques and finishes today. Originally I was into 1/35 WWI aircraft splashed all over with humbrol enamels and hung from my bedroom ceiling :- D However, these days my hands aren’t great and an accident has damaged my left eye so I’m going for WWII armour and a great big magnifying glass [:D] Trying hard to learn and can’t wait to see more of the amazing models the community is creating.

Welcome!

Welcome! (Quite wondering - a pause of 30 years, wow))

Welcome JT

Welcome to the Forums JT! Glad to have you aboard!

Lots of us have problems with bad eyesight, shaky hands and other problems of advanced years. We also have developed ways to deal with quite a few of them. If you need any help with a problem or have any questions just ask. We have quite a few quick and easy remedies that do help keep us working on the models that we like to build.

Thanks all for the very warm welcome [:)] I’ve decided that my first proper project will be a Cromwell mkIV as per the Desert Rats, wish me luck as I’ll need it [:D] I’ll be sure to check out the armour, reference and technique forums, any and all advice welcome.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum and back to the hobby. Excellent group of modelers here who can answer any question that you may have or give advice. BTW love the motorcycle pictured in your profile photo.

Ah thank you very much, it’s changed a bit since that photo! Always fun to mess around with the bike, like model making but just 1/1 and I can actually see what I’m doing!!
