Hello from Saskatoon, SK, Canada

Hi there,

My name is Ray and I am a modelholic.[:p]

I have just recently taken parental leave from work so I am hoping to clear off some of the backlog of models that have built up in the basement. Somehow though, I am finding that I don’t have anymore time than when I was working. How does that work?[:0]
My main interest is cars and trucks. A lot of exotic sports cars and hot rods but I do have a couple of airplanes, a really BIG tank, and even a ship that is mixed in there as well. I am currently working on a Lamborghini LP500S that I am hoping to have finished for a local contest the beginning of May. (I’ve only been working on it for ? years)
My first ever contest by the way.
I am really enjoying browsing through the forums here. I’m sure that this will give me the extra incentive to get going and start (and finish) a few of the models that are currently taking up space in the basement.
With the time off now as well I have been able to attend a meeting of the local modelling club. I am really excited about getting involved with them as well.

Actually, I suppose I should tell you a little about myself too. I am 32 yrs old, married, with 2 children (4 yrs and 7 mos). I’ve been modeling off and on for about 13 years plus the modeling that I did while I was a kid. Anyway, I should probably stop rambling here and let someone else talk.[:p]
I look forward to ‘meeting’ everyone and honing my skills with the help of all the experts here. Thanks.

Ray

Welcome Ray

If you are like the rest of us you may spend more time at the forums than at your work bench. It’s still part of model building. Enjoy the topics and let others know your views or tricks on building. Again, welcome

Hey Ray,
Welcome to a place where many modelholics hang out for support…sorry no sympathy handed out here though. Hope you enjoy it here…it’s a great place to be.

Welcome , welcome!
I wish you many hours of enjoyment… reading and writing to this fabulous website… Have fun! [8D]

Hey, wait a minute!! There can’t be two of us from Saskatoon on this site!! OK, maybe we can make a little room… [:)]

Ray, I’m from Saskatoon as well!! Are you in the local club (SMAS)? The Bridgecon contest coming up in May is going to be good. I’m hoping to have a 1/72 Corsair done by then, but the progress is not going very fast!! I’m glad there’s still 6 weeks left!

We are now a FORCE to be reconned with - Saskatchewan is about to move into the passing lane and overtake the world scale model community!!

Howdy from cow town and welcome to the Asylum, We have just proudly topped 10,000 and growing, and it is just as addicting as modelling it self, I guess that lets out the glue theory. [;)] So come on in the forums fine!

Hi ya Ray …

Welcome to the FSM community forum(s). After you have been here a while … you should be able to build with one hand and eye (your choice) and type and read the monitor with the other hand and eye. That’s the way us “old hands” do it … huh …

Anyway … welcome and have fun!
