Oh yeah, I have an original K98 that I take out and shoot from time to time. I’m trying to find a good place to go shooting though. Not too many places around here.
hmm… do you mean it with the get-together thing? it would be pretty cool to meet a fellow FSM member, but I don’t think it would be too appropriate for a 14 year old to…you know… hang around with you two. Its not that im trying to imply that you guys are bad and will try to mug me because I’m a kid, but I think it lowers the adults’ status… you know… handing around with a teen LOL
if its fine with you guys, I’m up for a Saturday of model shopping [:D]
Anyone else want to do a MEET AND SHOP AROUND FOR HOBBY SHOPS DAY?
How many are from the NE Ohio area that would be interested in getting together for a few hours? It would cool to meet some of you guys and there are alot from this area. Anyone else who is bored enough and doesn’t mind driving from distant lands are all welcome to join us.
It would be fun to meet a bunch of fellow modelers and explore a new store. I’ll let you know when I have a free Saturday. Don’t worry jinithith2, I’ll bring my son along. He’s also 14 and enjoys building models.
Doom Grr and oddjob007 are both from my school, and we happen to be friends (they are both members on this forum, although I haven’t seen oddjob007 on here recently…)
Doom Grr and I went to Whistle together, so I think he would be game for this as well.
one question
since we can’t drive, how are we going to get around to the different stores?
I’m sure we can figure something out with the driving.
Would your parents be able to give you a lift somewhere? The rest we can figure out. We can all meet at a place that is close and convenient then go from there. Buckeye, let me know when your free for a little while and we’ll figure out what to do.
Whoever has not been to Wings in Lakewood should make that a priority and put it at the top of your list.
I’m in Akron. Stopped at the store (forget the name - on Bailey Rd in Cuyahoga Falls) just this morning and it’s closed - looks like permanently. Green plastic drapes all over the windows. Since my office in just down the road I drive by there a lot. It’s hours were always erratic but now I guess it’s gone.
Boy, I hate to see any place close up. Saturday after work I stopped at a local shop I used to go to way back in high school. Hobby Castle is on Rocky River Dr. between Puritas and Lorain. I picked up two kits.
