I just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the good reading and tips. You all have some talent.
I have a few Paasche VL airbrushes to my name and a Tamiya FW 190 a-3 I recieved as a Christmas gift from my brother. This will be the first time in 16 years I’ve tried to make a model.
[#welcome] to the forums! Glad you found us over here. I have that exact kit on my bench right now, one of my all-time favorite kits. Enjoy it, and feel free to post pics over in Aircraft. [tup]
You are actually driving me to make this kit. I look at the cockpit of your model and wonder if it’s even the same because yours looks so much better, lol. For instance, my kit didn’t come with seatbelts, the handle on the left panel or detail on the contol stick. Also on the left panel I notice the white nob recessed into it…on my kit it’s just there.
Thank you very much, that is the ULTIMATE compliment to me! Inspiring others to build or try something new is as good as it gets for me. I am so happy to hear I was able to do that for you!
I think your cockpit looks very good indeed, with a very high level of detail. Your painting skills are first rate, and it looks like you really know what you are doing. As far as the seatbelts on mine, I used these available from Squadron:
I also added the throttle details from styrene rod and wire, forgot I had done that actually. When I look at the cockpit now, I realize that the throttle detail is redundant as the throttle itself is molded onto the left fuselage side (the little nub is the throttle lever). [:I]
Please post your WIP over in aircraft for all to see, it is really good work. [^]
