I have spent the last three years getting re-acquainted to my favorite hobby. I mostly construct WW2 aircraft and armored vehicles but I also enjoy the modern military aircraft. The scale that I like to work the most is 1:48. I try my best to construct dioramas when possible. This is a lot more fun than when I was a kid…you know, make them in a day and blow them up the next.
Welcome tfrazzell to FSM…
We encourage modellers to wait at least one week before blowing up any of their projects…unless of course it’s a building nightmare then all rules are off, blast away. Hope we can be of some help in getting you further acquainted with this hobby we all love.
Hey tfrazzell,
Welcome to the forums. I remember doing that as a kid. I even built an M80 firecracker into an airplane model fuselage just for that purpose. I also enjoy it more these days, but there are times when I would like to blow up a model or two. There are a lot of great tips to be found here. The people here very helpful, so don’t hesitate to ask questions. Most of all, just have fun.

Welcome to the forum and back to the hobby. I grew up in the S.E. part of CO and have been through Denver many times. Just how much snow did you get in the past couple of days?
I retired from the State Dept and moved to FL about 5 years ago; had enough of the snow and cold weather!

Hi there tfrazzell,
And welcome to the community… You’ll find that you have plenty of company for 1/48 modelers. Enjoy your stay here and feel free to put up any queries, the guys here are very helpful. The heat here is as intense as the frost there i think…
Cheers,
Nandkumar
