I’m a 69 year old retired Tool and die maker. Finally building models.I’ve done 2 steam tractors from plans, a couple civil war cannons, a stage coach and a plank on frame HMS Bounty. right now I;m building a Body By Ficsher Napoleonic coach from 1932. I’m really glad to be here.
Welcome to the FSM forums. Sounds like you’re a traditional model builder. It’s easy to post pictures here in the forums. Looking forward to seeing your work.
Welcome! Sounds like you have esoteric tastes! Glad to have you aboard.

Welcome! Some interesting sounding subjects. Look forward to seeing your work
Thanks everybody. As soon as my daughter has time she will show me how to post pictures.
These are my babies! I started building these in 1979 from plans. They have spent a lot of time in boxes, unfinished. I completed the black tractor in 2000, and the brass tractor in 2010. They are built to run on steam, however, I’ll never do so. I did run one once using compressed air however. Each ‘rivet’ is a brass bolt, washer and nut screwed together.
I hope you enjoy these!
Those are some really interesting and beautiful models! Great stuff.
Fantastic stuff! And welcome to the boards!
Welcome to the family, the first round is on you! ![]()
I love the cannons as well as for the stagecoach! Impressive
Happy Modeling,
Mike
Hello and welcome to FSM
Welcome and those are unique and interesting subjects! I’d love to see photos and hear more about your builds.
Thank you all for your warm welcomes. It’s really good to be here. Right now I’m working on a Napoleonic coach from the Body by Fischer contest from back in 1933. One of my uncles started it then it ended up in a box in parts. He owned a hobby shop in the 40’s that burned down and unfortunately the coach was in it. What parts where there where smoke damaged. All these years later I am resurrecting it. Still had the plans in the box.
