Hello from Arizona

Old Navy vet here, who just got back into building models. Last kit I built at 16, which was 34 years ago. Of course I decided to tack the Trumpeter 1/200 scale USS Missouri for my second project. I am just wrapping up a 1/350 scale Revell Missouri, which was the kit I last built at age 16.

Hi Weather Guesser,

Welcome to the forum, post some progress pics.

I love Ships Too!

Hi and Welcome! But I gotta Say You picked a Big’Un" The " Mo" and in 1/200? Yikes! The Arizona was bad enough!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forum! I built the 1/525 kit, the classic one, when I was a kid, though it was in its New Jersey boxing. I look forward to seeing your Missouri build!

Best regards,

Brad

Greetings to you, even if AGs are not widely held to be truth tellers. My weather casting was limited to stepping out on the bridgewing and holding out my hand. If it was gonna rain, my hand got wet. But you’ve probably heard that one already.

Ship modeling is fun, whether it is a ship we’ve ever served on or not.

I prefer small stuff - 1/700 ships, 1/72 WWI aircraft, and the occasional 1/1200 sailing ship.

You will find a great bunch at the Ships forum here.

Welcome!
Rick

Hey, any AG worth his salt has his own weather rock out in the yard. They never fail. Of course being in Central Arizona, where there is only three weather conditions, the weather rock is not quite as required.

Welcome to the Forums Weather Guesser! Glad to have you aboard. Thank you for your service.

I started building in 1946 (6 years old) and never quit. My favorites are WWI & WWII planes followed by sailing ships. Built a couple of USS Missouri models including a large one that I R/C’d. Sorrowfully, they all ended up being either targets or M-80 victims a long time ago.

If you need any help with a problem/question, just ask. That’s what we’re here for.

Stay Safe.
