Thank you for letting me join in. I got my user name because i have built many conversions that I feel could have been employeed. Nothing silly like 88mm at/aa guns on horch A1 cars. Any way I am looking forward to exchanging ideas and discussing with anyone out there. My current project is a P61b Black Widow ground attack conversion. Hope it comes out well. Oh yea, My father was a navy ww2 lt cruiser gun captain. His brother was Jhon Thomas Blackburn Big Hog ,commander vf 17 ww2. Both are sadley gone but not forgotten. I belong to a model club[ The sons of the pacific]. We origionaly only had members that had family in ww2 but decided to be open minded so anyone is welcome. Hope to hear from anyone interested. Have a good day and may all your day be plastic ones. Travis Blackburn
[#welcome] to the forums. Interesting about your club. My Dad was with the 2nd Marines at Tarawa as a 40mm gun captain, getting ashore on day 2. I still have 2 fragments of a Betty his crew was credited with destroying. Regards, Bill
[#welcome] to the forums Travis! The first model I posted here years back was of your uncle’s aircraft.

VF-17 is a unit that I have accumulated many decals for, as I hope to model many of their aircraft. I am also very interested in the model club you mention, could I get some more information on this? Thank you! [:)]
