I am currently buildinga hobbyspace . I will be needing advice on certain things and I am sure I will get the help I need from here. So thanks in advance for any help I recieve here.
Welcome to the forum and welcome back to the madness. There is plenty of advice to be shared here. One just needs to ask.
Thank you. I am looking forward to this very much
Welcome! Used to race RC buggies & trucks way back - Associated RC-10 original gold aluminum pan.
Man ‘Northwest Wisconsin’ just sounds cooooold!
Greetings from Oshkosh, WI and welcome back to the hobby! You’ll find the best advice and assistance from the modelers on this forum. May I suggest that if you can, try to attend the Region #5 Model Contest in Madison this coming March 2022 and the Modeling Phanatics contest in Eagle River in May 2022. Great models for inspiration/motivation and you can’t beat the deals at the vendors.

Welcome to the forum
Welcome back to the hobby, Lurch, and welcome to the forum! I love that handle!
Hi Lurch! Welcome to the Forums and welcome back to the hobby.
Used to race R/C cars, planes and boats back in the '70s. Boats were electric scale and sailboats. Raced the sailboats up and down the east coast. Lots of fun but got too expensive. When flying planes, they flew great but many didn’t survive the landings.[;)] That’s when I switched to sailboats. Never lost one.
Lots of great people here. You need help, just ask.

Stay Safe.
Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. I started doing rc when i was on an aircraft carrier in the mid 80,s. I still have 2 of the 3 originals that I started with. I have a pretty good collection now my wife thinks I am just a big OLD kid now. but thats ok atleast I have lots of fun. Have 4 grandkids with another one on the way due in Feb. I still enjoy doing static models of all types of subjects and plan on doing some diaramiams and learning to doing scratch building.I have been reading mags on modeling for many years and have learned many things from them.
G’day Lurch and welcome. Lots of good advice and good people here. You mentioned being on a carrier, so I gather you are ex navy?
Hello and welcome to the “group”. Our group therapy normally is model building that we share with one another in the forum (smile).
Glad to have you here.

Brrrr;
Northwestern Wisconsin! The cold weather there is a good time to snuggle up with a Good Fine Scale Modeler and Build, Build, Build! Welcome Aboard!!
Yes Dodgy I am ex navy. I did 12 years total. I would have done more but they have an issue if you are a single parent .
Yep can get cold from time to time but I enjoy it most of the time. You should visit here sometime.
The welcome I have recieved so far has been great. Some of you even have a sense of humer. I like that. I also see there is a few people from other countries and I think that is fantastic.I am looking forward to learning alot and improving my modeling skills. I said earlier that I also do rc vehicles of all sorts cars, trucks, planes, and now will be starting boats. I think this web site is going to be fun as well as educational. Posibly will be able to make now friends and hopefully meet a few.
What part of NW Wisconsin? I have a friend from Bloomer.
I am in Cameron. Bloomer isnt to far away from here.About a 30 to 45 min drive i think. Only been here 2 1/2 years and still learning the area. I am origaly from St. Paul Mn. un til I met my wife. She transplanted me here. Have a great house on a lake and loving it.
Sounds beautiful Lurch! There a number of ex-navy blokes here. I’m ex Royal Australian Navy.
Have you tried RC Helos? I have a couple including a TREX 450 and it scares the heck out of me but they are fun and invigerating to fly and full 3D capable. I turned it upside down once or twice. I still have a few planes - gas and electric and a few toyish RC cars.
Are you looking at power boats? Had a friend that built RC hydroplanes but man you need some room and flat water to run those.
I was given a couple of planes last year. I havent tried them yet. I would like to get a float plane . I just havent had time to do anything lately. Perhaps this summer I will get things going. I wont to get a couple of boats but havent found any that I like. I january I will be out of commishion for a couple of months. I recently found out that I have prostate cancer and have to have surgery so will be laid up for a while from that. Maybe get some small things done then.
