can anyone help me? i don’t want to use the plastic blocks but i don’t know how to figure out the sizes to convert to wood. i could sure use your insight on this. Thanks, Jim
Hey Wolfman Jim,
Why not dip the blocks in Floquil foundation and allow to dry a week. Then you can use any floquil stain you want on them and they look great. I did an Airfix HMS Prince that way and, well… see for yourself…

Be seeing you, Doc
I would say Model expos 1/8" blocks would work.also the next size up would be ok. It depends if your doing single blocks, double blocks, lift block &etc. Also I would think the 5/32 deadeyes would be close to the right scale
thanks guys, i think i’m going to go ahead and check into thre blocks that millard recommended, i really like the idea of real wood.
Model Expo blocks are good. There are other lines available by looking at Bluejacket Shipcrafters’ web site, or White Ensign Models if you don’t like what you first see.

Bruce
i’m leaning towards the blue jacket blocks, mostly because there’r the ones that `i have reached the most. wish me luck.
I haven’t heard of White Ensign Models but I’ll check them out right now.
Thanks Bruce,
Jim
