That is just outrageously complex. :joy:

I just spent about three hours tonight working on the cockpit and canopy of my F-4. Looking at all of that rigging, I’m pretty sure if I tried building this ship I’d still be working on it three years from now.

Really impressive work, Steve. I honestly don’t know how you keep track of where everything goes.

Incredible attention to detail!

What’s left?

thankyou samphoto , I’ve been doing these for about 20 years and have done a bit of research , but I still have to stop and readjust every now and then .

cheers veedubb67 , now for the sails , a lot of work has to go into them , this pic will explain it .

Once you get the sails rigged, do you use some type of varnish to shape them?

I never have done so veedubb67 , I think with the wind blowing , they would be all over the place

the fore yard and sail are on , nothing is attached yet .making sure everything is where it’s supposed to be .

I’ve been wondering about this throughout your build. What do the instructions actually look like for all that rigging? Do they take you through it string by string and show exactly where each one starts and ends, or do they give you a rigging diagram and you have to interpret it?

Looking at those photos, I can’t even imagine keeping track of where everything goes. :joy:

the answer is yes and no , I have 4 different instructions , french , english , japanese , old and modern , and none of them are any good without , an engineers degree , the japanese imai ones are probably the best , they are all comprehensive , but all over the shop , it’s just i have been doing this long enough , and have a few books on the subject , to muddle my way through .

I have to say, after your explanation of how you do the rigging, these updates are even more impressive to me. My eyes would cross just looking at a set of instructions telling me where all those lines go. The fact that you’re essentially doing this from your own knowledge and experience is kind of mind-boggling. I wouldn’t even know where to start.
