just wondering if any of you could help me . I was wanting to know which is better hobby boss’s 1/48 scale hellcat or eduard’s

“Better” how? Detail, price, scale fidelity, fit, accesories, decals, etc? “Better” is such a relative term… Both look pretty good, and are about the same price (too high)…

However, I’ve never built either one, since I prefer Monogram’s F6F, lol…

I haven’t built the Hobby Boss kit, but the Eduard kit is an excellent build.

Eduard offers an RAF Hellcat box with two complete kits for under $50. What a bargain! Of course Hans is right again, the venerable Monogram kit is the true value.

The Eduard is a “beaut”. Great detail. I got the Brit version dual kits for about $30 on ebay last November. Rick.

The Eduard Weekend Editions go for around $20. But if space is a consideration, the folding wing option for makes Hobby Boss very attractive.

Eduard has the edge in this comparison especially if you buy the dual kit option. However, I will point out that if you can find them the Otaki and/or Arri offerings (same kit) is a much better kit than the Monogram but in the same price range. I picked one up at a show last season for under $10. Recessed panel lines and good details.

I read a review on the Eduard model that described it as more accurate in scale looks and dimentions when compared to several other manufacturers. The cowl front area was especially mentioned as having the correct shape. It also brings all the pe details to really dress it up.

What I have are Hellcats by Hasegawa and Hobby Boss. Comparing the two (unbuilt) kits, the Hobby Boss has more details and an option of folding wings. Price comparison is a no-contest, The Hobby Boss kit is definitely cheaper. I guess the Eduard kit has PEs to go with it.

I just bought the Eduard weekend edition, it is so detailed, it comes with four canopies.
