Some more pics. The inlet manifolds and exhausts were scratchbuilt with solderwire, glued and painted. The rest of the engine detail is copper wire.

The closeup of the oiltank.

And the wheels were detailed as well with wire and leadfoil.

Thanks for all the comments.

Very nice great job!

What a groovy bird, you inspire me to do better. You are the zone master.

Thanks Buddy. I would not be able to do this kind of modelling without you in the zone there with me.
We keep drawing the lines in the sand and keep inspiring each other. Remeber the creed of the zone - “The quest for zero defect…” and nothing is impossible, time consuming maybe, impossible never… remember the tappets and camshaft on your 1/24 Mustang? The same with the chaingun, bofors and 105 on the 1/48 C-130 Spectre, soon to be unleashed on the unsuspecting modelling world…

Heya guys.

¡¡¡¡Great job Tappie!!! That’s an inspiring piece of work. [tup] [tup] [tup]
When i saw models like that, i know then, that i must work harder to achieve result like those, even when i don’t have all the means for it, but you know what they say…“Necesity is the mother of inventions” [;)]
Now i’m on the thread of an ARII 1/48 F6F-3 Hellcat and if you don’t mind, i’ll pick up some tips from your work to use them on my Hellcat.

Keep up the good work Tappie and thanks for shering. [tup]

Best Regards & Happy Modeling.

Raudel.

You are most welcome. Thanks for the comments.

I’m looking for my in-progress pic’s. As soon as I get them I’ll post the pic’s on the interior work.

Now this is what I call scale modeling! It could easily pass for the guine article! Excellent building, especially the engine and cockpit!
