Heavykits contact details

Hello All!

I am Walter Spierenburg, a Dutch modeller, searching for a long time now for the contact details for the company Heavykits.

Unfortunately the web address (www.heavykits.com) does not work…so I am not sure they still exsist or not.

I saw Mike Glinski or Lucien Harpress on a forum on this site mentioned that they had contact with them, back in Nov 2005. The message is titled “Sanger 1/48th Stirling Vac!”

My goal is to buy the Antonov AN-225 in 1/72 scale and, if available, a AN 124-100.

Can anybody help me, please?

Thanks!

I don’t think Heavykits is going to produce the An-225 and An-124 at this time. They produced 25 copies of the Spruce Goose in 1/72 and that’s it. I had an email conversation with the owner about the Antonovs a while back, and it sounded like given how the Spruce Goose turned out business-wise, he wasn’t going to have a go at the other planes.

I was hoping for those kits myself - instead I’ve decided to scratchbuild them. I have good plans if you’re interested.

Bruce

Thanks for the reply Bruce. However, scratch building models is out of my league (for now?).

One more question though, you make it sound like Heavykits have not released this model yet But I recall finding a review (with photos) about 1.5 / 2 years ago of a AN 225 in 1/72 scale on the internet (I can not find it anymore). Does that not mean the kit should be available?

Do you have a e-mail address of the owner of Heavykits for me?

use “Heavykits” on ebay community and it will pull up the one your looking for

Sent via email - let me know if you don’t get it. I’m pretty sure he never produced a kit. I know he did some work to produce masters of the An-225 and An-124 - that may be what you saw.

I’d say give scratchbuilding a whirl (or start out with some vac kits to build up skills, since they usually require some scratchbuilding work). I haven’t scratchbuilt anything from the ground up before either, but I have done a number of vac kit builds. I’m just going to dive in and have a go at it. I figure if I screw up a part, I can just try again. I’ll probably start next month on the Antonov builds once I finish my current two vac-kit builds (an An-8 and a Bv. 238).
