Shiffer Books

Sweet… Thanks fer the link, AJ…

Mommy, can Santa bring me one? Pweeseeee…

No, you’ll shoot your eye out

Holy $%^# Thats alot for a book

Not “a book”… THE Book…[bow]

Really; because I got into a/c models after Paine absolutely made me blow my paychecks on armor… the monogram airplanes were a golden rule. I can draw the P-61, the B-26 factory, the Lady Be Good from memory.

H von H I had forgotten about the Victory gun deck dio, which IMHO is the Mona Lisa of dios. Need this book… even if just for the kids.

[(-D] The really funny part was Mom did get me a CO2 pistol for Christmas when I was 10.

There’s a book I wouldn’t mind having. It’s a shame it’s so darned expensive.

Agreed… too rich for my blood at this stage of the game… [:(]

Seriously?

They want how much?

[BH]

Granted, he is the father of the modern diorama and inspiration to many of us but. . . . . WOW!

Well, guess I will have to wait for that one to go on sale,

It might seem expensive but ask yourself how many shelf queens you’re sitting on right now? How much money do you have tied up in models in your stash you may never get to? How many models and aftermarket accessories will you buy that will far exceed the $80 for this book? I don’t think that this book is so expensive that its out of reach for anyone that really wants it.

Don’t let the sticker shock scare you, if you really want it…get it. If your not sure, wait till someone does get it, does a real review of the book (not some shill for the publisher, author, wholesaler, distributor, but an honest to goodness reiview) and then if you think its worth the green, go for it. If not, pass. I did that with Andrea’s “The complete Bill Horan”…everyone raved about it and I almost bought it, till I got to look at a friends copy. Just wasn’t that impressed. So i passed, but I at least waited till it was released before I decided.

This book looks like it might be a worth while purchase based upon the content. There has been a pretty healthy buzz about it on some of the figure sites and alot of folks are excited.

I still have a 3 ring binder somewhere with all those really cool diorama sheets that used to come in the Monogram 1/32 armor kits. I loved those kits.

Keep in mind that fat price tag is a hardcover addition.

Surely they’ll do a softcover later at 1/2 that cost?

I’m editing a book right now with a lot of glossy images which makes it expensive. What they are asking is not out of the ordinary. Take a look at the prices in the art section of any bookstore.
