Hi Modelers,
I had a little modeling crisis the last weeks, but now I have finished my UHU. To be honest I am satisfied ( well, mostly) and would like to show the results. Its the Tamiya kit (best kit I ever glued) plus some details from CMK (Cockpit, rudders, Wheel wells , lot of PE etc.) I did some surgery with most of the rudders. Not recommended for the tail…
As it was my first mottling scheme I tried the so called reverse mottling technique (found that on Hyperscale) It worked out well. Hope you like it.
Some photos of the masking/mottling process (took me some hours):
And here the finished result with some details:
As you can see I did very few weathering. I sprayed the exhaust stains , for the rest I used pastels.
In your first picture I was wondering what the material is you used for adhesive. It looks like the stuff used to hang posters. Did it peel off cleanly, and will you be ablt to reuse it? The results are really nice. there are so many motteled schemes that this would be a great help.
Hi there,
thanks for your answers. I always like to show my pics here, cos you´re ever so nice.
The camo masking is made with Blue Tack , it peels off easy and it would be reuseable, but after spraying in the second color I normally throw it in the bin. But its cheap and you only need a bit
