He111H-22 w/V1 1/48 Monogram

Hey gang been away for too long got a lot of catching up to do. Just finished this Monogram kit and since a few of these have been posted up here over the years I wo’nt re-hash the build. Finished with Modelmaster Enamels and top coated with Testors Dullcote

That is one sweet build!

I may have to look into that kit. How old is the kit and how well does it come together?

Impressive Heinkel! Nice job on the camouflage.

Thanks Mike the kit was released over 10 years ago and the fit around the wing to engine nacelles is horrid!

Chad thanks for the kind words

Looks mighty fine to me! Those Luftwaffe night bomber schemes always look menacing yet attractive

Very menacing, and very very cool. Great build! The cockpit glass masking must’ve been a project in itself.

I love everything you have done ! My hat is off to you!

Nice! One of my favorite aircraft. Love the camo scheme.

Good to seeyou back Trye, lovely job on the Heinkel. Really nice looking scheme.

You did a great job on this WIP build. Everything looks fantastic!

Toshi

Gorgeous job on the camo. impressive airbrush control on the squiggles.

Are you entering this one at the IPMS show? I look forward to seing this one in person.

Wow, that camo job is very impressive! Well, the whole bird is impressive in fact. Great job. [:)]

Cheers, Mark

Really cool! Those squiggles look great!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, much appreciated! Bish, glad to be back thanks Buddy

Jay , thanks , Yes I will be at the show looking forward to seeing you there

Please re-hash!! Many of us haven’t read the threads of previous builds of the same aircraft, or, like me, don’t remember reading them. So, if possible, please tell about the build! I love reading about what you did, what troublespots you ran into, what you did to overcome them, etc. It’s how we all learn new stuff about the hobby.

And that is one beautiful He-111!! Great job!!

Gary Mason

Nice job on the Heinkel, great finish. I’ve tried to build three of them and have not finished one for one reason for another. [:(]

Wow really nice job and the canopy looks great

Dan,Blackdog thanks for the kind words. Gary thanks as well,as for the build part Photo bucket blasted the in progress pics away into oblivion. I can tell you that there are some fit issues around the Nacelle-wing area that I shimmed with sheet styrene. Also at the leading edge of the wing root to fuse was the same. The rest of the kit fit well ,even the canopy after some careful sanding and dry fitting. My big complaint would be the large heat sinks(sags) in the tops of the wings, I’m geussing due to being pulled out of the mold before the plastic cooled to a solid state. Hope that helps

I did find a wip pic if You look close its obvious where the fit issues were
