HE111 Project: ...Finished! Really? Yes!

looks real nice mark. she turned out great!

Very nice job Mark. I really like the camo scheme it looks like it was a labor of love. semper fi, mike

Looks awesome. Nice cammy work.[:)]

Ohhhh. That “BoB”! Yes! Great flick, although it’s been a few years, I didn’t recall the HE111s. I better go grab up a copy.

Well believe it or not, in my travels I wound up with a total of THREE of the Monogram HE111 kits. One of them is a variant which carried a V1 under its wing. This kit came with an officer figure.

I was just going to ask if that figure came with your kit as I still have it in my spares box when I did my He-111 with the V-1 underneath… is this the kit that features the torpedoes?? Very nice job on the paint scheme nonetheless…

Yup, that be the one.

And to everyone, I’m blushing from all the kind words, I feel like the prom queen , er make that king, over here.[:I][:I] Thank God the photos don’t show all the flaws!

all i can say is wow[bow][bow]

cool! my wife doesn’t know it yet but she is about to become WAY more involved in my hobby… [;)]

I watch that DVD at least once a year religiously… even my wife likes it… I think I probably have seen it several hundred times since I was a kid… to think of a movie done today with THAT many big names in it… it would be staggering…

Nice job, ModelNerd !
Bet you had to replenish your masking supplies after building the kit. Did you have trouble with the main gear doors? I’ve built a couple of them, and I wish that they had molded the doors separately from the wheel well walls.
Well done !

Great work, MN! That Luftwaffe camo job is tops. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
onyan

Now that’s a good looking 111!! Came close to buying that kit a couple times, but got my eye on another one before I picked it up… glad to see it all built up! Need to go looking again now! [;)]

I agree Swanny, the “Battle of Britain” is truly a classic! I always have had a soft spot for the opening song in the movie, while showing the Fokker Tri-Motor inflight… and then all the 111’s lined up during Goring’s inspection… then the part where Michael Caine sits on the lap of the Hurricane pilot… then the part… oh, I like ALL of it too! [;)]

Take care and thanks for posting!
Take care,
Frank

I have wanted to build a 111 for so long you did a hell of a job thanks for the insperation and the pics nice looking bird![:D][8D][tup]

Great build, you’ve done an awesome job of it. Very nice finish.

Yes, I did go through a LOT of tape with this bird!

And yes, I could see early on that the gear doors were gonna give me bleeding ulcers, so I cut them off of the wheel well walls before assembly. They were just about the last parts to go on the plane.

You’ve beaten me to the finish-congrats! Your One-Eleven looks suberb and gives me heart to soldier on with my H-10. I cut those doors off, too- be I had already glued the wings together and had a fine time getting the gear bay walls into place. D’oh!

Nice looking build, of a wonderful subject.
