Well it took a while (I think around 3 months on and off), but it’s a done deal. It is “in the can”, as they say in the movie industry. Overall the Monogram kit (1:48 scale) was not bad. The antenna wire is a lock of my wife’s wonderfully thick (.003 thick!) hair. Cheapest monofiliment I could ask for! Enjoy the pics-
wow! looks great! What’d you use to secure the hair? (thinking of my own wife’s fine hair) gonna snatch a bald spot out of her tonight and sell it on ebay! [;)]
Looks Great!!! loved the bit about your wife’s hair. My wife has nice long thick hair too, hmm… the possibilities!
I’ve been wanting to try the new Hasegawa 1/72 He 111 (as that is my preferred scale)and now that I’ve seen yours I think I’m going to have to do it. Has anyone had a look at it and wish to share some comments? Thanks.

The hair was secured with CA glue (superglue). Place a drop at the first anchor point (the mast in my case), stick the hair into the drop, let it dry. After dry, remove the slack and secure the other end slightly beyond the second anchor point (the rudder in my case) with tape, then place a drop on the hair where it is resting on top of the rudder. Once dry, trim the excess from both ends with a knife.
Looks good… To bad that back part of the greenhouse doesnt fit flush, hate parts like that. My wife would sooner fillet me then let me use her hair[;)]. Its a great clean build bro.

The Battle of Britian shot in 1969 and was one of the best aireal films made. Stared Michael Caine, Laurence Olivier, Robert Shaw and lots of others. Great aireal scenes and shots of aircraft on the ground, availible from MGM through stores like Sun Coast Video for around twenty bucks. This movie is so worth the dollar - you’ll watch it over and over. I have a 27" tv with DVD player set up in the model room so I can watch it while modeling. When the wife is not home I put it on the Big Screen downstairs with 600 watts of sound kicking 6 speakers and sub-woofer during the combat scenes - the neighbors think I’m nuts.
