HE111: Greenhouse Unmasked!

Yeah, baby! That’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout! Express Masks? FastFrames? We don’ need no stinkin’ FastFrames! No, no, no!

In all honesty, I expected the tape to bleed like a stuck pig, as it was my first use of Scotch tape for masking. But miraculously, no paint went under the tape. I used a base coat of black before the green was applied, to ensure opacity.

Very nice, clean masking job. It is very impressive.

Man, that looks nice!! I wish mine came out that clean, thanks for the peek!

Take care,
Frank

that the best you can do?!![;)][:P] lookin’ sweet friend. later.

Yeah, what oldhooker and saltydog said.
Will you do my canopies from now on? PUH-LEEEEEEZZZZZZEE

BTW, your wing joint looks real swell as well. Is that the q-tip/nail polish remover method or other?

let me say that looks great. crisp clean. well done.

joe

Nope, that be the wood filler and finger method[;)]

Frank, I have been to your website a while back and saw your Chinook. It is I that bows low to you!

Looks great ModelNerd… I just recently used Scotch Magic tape for the first time as well and I was very happy with the results I got. They were not as good as the results you got though… that looks awesome.

Impressive!

Nice masking job on a difficult subject.

Karl

Top notch work. Sure feels good when the masks come off and it looks like that doesn’t it? Kind of like the classic post plastic surgery scene where the Dr. slowly unwraps the patient and everybody holds their collective breath and the camera pans to the face and everyone goes … Oooooo!

Looks great, I have one I am trying scotch tape on and I hope it comes out that good.

Thad

Sharp!

Awesome job modelnerd!!

The word that comes to mind is immaculate!!

I can’t wait to see the rest of your progress.

Later tonight or tomorrow I’ll pop back by your website and check out the rest of your mustang build as well. Good stuff.

great job on the mask

Heh Swanny ya nailed it. Great technique on that one Nerd… keep showing us more.

I saw fast frames mentioned here. Do they still make those? My LHS used to sell them and they were great. Just spray them the color you want, wet 'em down and peel them off. They even went around compound curves. They made painting a complicated greenhouse canopy a snap. And they cost about 2 bucks.

Where do they sell them if they’re still around.? I haven’t seen them at Squadron Shop.

Very nice job on the greenhouse, came out great.

Regards, Rick
