Finally!!! [swg][swg][swg] Here is my finished Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B that I created for the Secret Santa III group build. The kit is from Hobby Boss and was fairly easy to put together. Comments and suggestions are always appreciated. This is my first finished build for the year and hope to finish up some other started projects on the bench. Thanks again for looking.

How’d you do the spinning prop?

Thanks ygmodeler4. To get the spinning prop, I left off the piece that keeps the prop from coming off the plane. I did this to make transportation easier. I noticed that if I just blew on the prop it would spin pretty easily. So during pictures I tried it and took the shots. Thanks for looking.

Looks great! I just don’t get the “Hurricane” reference. It is just a Typhoon, right? (if Tiffy fans will please forgive the phrase, “just a Typhoon”…)

You are correct Baron. This is a Hawker Typhoon and not Typhoon Hurricane as I mentioned earlier.

Ahh, that would explain why it looks EXACTLY like a spinning prop, because it is! lol.

Well done! Spinning prop is a great touch, especially the second to last where you can faintly see the blades/tips. I like it. [tup]

Appreciate the comments guys. The spinning props are a nice touch. I plan on recreating this effect on future builds. BTW, has anyone seen the new transformers movie? Just saw it last night and it was awesome!!! There was a character in the movie that has inspired me for my next build. It’s a plane and it’s not starcream (F-22), can you guess? I would just come out and say it, but I do not want to ruin the movie for anyone who has not seen it.

Awesome Job[bow]. I’ve always loved the typhoon’s,as well as skyraider’s and A-10’s. They always left some damage when they were around. It was my first aircraft model when I was a kid. love the pic’s. [tup]

Looks really good, I love the paint job. The Typhoon was always my favorite Brit aircraft.

Yes, they are from the kit. I would only suggest you skip putting on the teeth decals. I had so much trouble with them and one of the sides eventually tore. I had to remove the decal. What a pain.

Painklr, i had an uncle who flew them during the war, and just recently i met a great old guy who worked on them…both described them as big and mean…but just a wonderful aircraft
