I’m trying to complete what I’d hoped was a fairly simple diorama based on the Tamiya 1/48 M-20 and a small bit of road, but there’s a total dearth of 1/48 accessories, much less ones suitable for my needs. That’s where you come in. I just need a couple of small things to finish my vignette, (once again in 1/48 scale):
*Some kind of rifle type firearm suitable for a US solider in the European theatre around 1944. An M1 or Tommy gun would be fine. I just need something for a lone US solider on guard duty to wield over his shoulder.
Maybe a left arm arched up holding a shoulder strap. A right arm straight down to the side might be nice, too.
Here’s what I’ve got going so far:
Tamiya sells US soldier kits but my LHS wants around 20-25 bucks per set in 1/48 scale, and needing only 1-2 parts makes them a REALLY bad investment. I’m open to trade/donation offers from anybody who can help out!
I’ve got an M1 and a Tommy gun and wont be needing them since I mostly model planes ( I bought Tamiya’s US Infantry at Rest kit for the jeep for a diorama). However, it’d be a few weeks before I’d be able to get it to ya
I got a few figures too that may have the arm configurations you speak of

Oh, and thanks regarding L’il Girl… Right now she’s got it in her head that she wants attack birds and is trying to get into Apaches… I think she’s nuts (only becasue she’d lose a lot of flight time, not because she wants to fly attack… That’s ok with me, lol)… She’d get twice, maybe three times the hours staying in 'Hawks, but what do I know? I only rode in the back and slid down ropes from 'em…
I didn’t realize the USA now allowed women in direct combat roles, but then again I remember a movie from…was it the early 90’s(?)…about Apache pilots, one of whom was female.
