Hav u seen these wheels? Im back.

I was wondering if any1 has seen wheels similar to this Casspir’s one’s in any kit they hav built. Dont know about the scale, for now i would just like to see whats out there. Just thinking of doing a little project in the future.[;)]

Thanx all i really appreciate the help.

Keep well.

The last time I saw wheels like those was on a British Morris Quad. I can’t say they are the same, but the definitely look similar. I believe the Quad is done in both 1/35 and 1/72 scale.

That’s my [2c] for what it’s worth.

Thanx for that Duke. Appreciate the help and the spare change.LOL

Keep well.

Artorius,
i am building the Tamiya Quad. (1/35)
i will photo & post the wheels for you when i get home.

Thanx for that. I really appreciate the help. Look forward to the pics.

Keep well.

there is a decent pic on this page:
http://www.cueballweb.com/~worktop/reviews/quad.html
if you need a better one, i can still shoot a close up for you.
but you can at least see the bolt pattern here.

Not a bad match. Looks promising. Thanx for the help. U dont hav to take a pic of yours. But thanx for the offer. That pic was fine. With a little mod it should work.
Thanx again.

Keep well.

no problem, glad to help!
good luck w/ your project.

Glad I could be of service. Can’t wait to see pics of the work you’re doing.

Craig - what size are the tires on the 1:1 beastie ?

Sorry bout the delay in replying every1. And you guys will be the first to see progress pics when i start. Still got a lot of research to do on this. Not much out there but hopefully enough. Robert about the size of the 1:1 wheels i dont know at this moment but am looking into it. If u look at the second pic it does give some perspective on the size and id say pretty huge.

Thanx all for the help.

Keep well.

Artorius,
i was wondering abt the size, as i do not think the Quads wheel/tire sets are that tall.
i will measure them tonight and give you their size.
but they seem much smaller than those.
i guess we will see.

I know that that is one of the ugliest trucks I have ever seen

WW: Thanx for that. I really appriciate the input.
MD: One man’s ugly is another man’s beautiful. Besides it may not be pretty but it is the benchmark for other vehicles when it comes to mine protection.[2c]

Keep well.

ahh!
that explains why the ‘cargo’ section is so far off the ground.

Most of our vehicles are like that. High V-shaped hull. Makes sense doesnt it. And apparently it can take a couple anti-tank mines and be ready to go in about 2 hours. Not bad i say.

Keep well.

Artorius,
here is the wheel/tire on my Quad.
the ruler in the picture is US inches.
sorry, i was not trying to be difficult,
but my ruler w/ metric on one side is AWOL
at the moment. honest. :frowning:
but i will include this info:
1 inch = 25.4 mm
1/16 of an inch (the markings on the ruler) = 1.5875mm
which should get you somewhere.
maybe.
hope it helps.

I’m thinking they may be closer to the wheels that come with the italeri 155mm Howitzer kit.

And seeing the border area between Zim and S.A. is chock full of the little buggers…

So sorry for the delay. Hav been out of town for a while and had no internet. Thanx all for the help I really appreciate it. Thanx WW for the convesion table.LOL .Robert do u hav a pic of the 155 Howitzer wheels. If nothing pans out I think i will get the Tamiya Centurion and convert it to an Olifant mk1a and put it next to a KO’d T-55 Border war style. What u think.
Thanks again for all the help.

Keep well.
