Hasegawa Spit Mk IX in full D-Day markings

Hi all!

Here are a couple pics of my just finished 1/72 scale Hasegawa Spitfire Mk IX. This was the mount of Wing Comander “Jack” Charles (RCAF) while flying with the Tangmere wing during the summer of 1944.
I added a photo-etch cockpit, radiator doors and a Squadron canopy. I also cut and dropped the elavators a bit. The decals are from the kit with ModelDecal codes and serial.

Happy Modeling!

WOW!![tup][tup][tup] very sweet looking spit ninedriver!! the bottom looks very nice and it has just the right amount of weathering as well. later.

Great looking Spitfire
nice stripes to, are they painted on or decals?

Thanks much for the nice comments guys…the stripes are painted caveman…with Pollyscale Black and White.

Joe

Outstanding work in 1/72nd. Is that cockpit detail OOB?

Crockett…the cockpit detail is mostly Eduard Photo etch with a little bit of scratch detail. The cockpit is where the kit is a bit weak…but I wouldn’t bother adding any detail unless you plan to open up the canopy as I did here.

Joe

Excellent work! A real joy to admire.

Darren.
