Hasegawa SH-3 Seaking (pics)

Here are some images of a 1/48 Hasegawa Seaking I built for a friend. Tell me what you think, guys. And Happy New Year! [dinner]

Very nice. Did you use any detail sets or is the kit designed to have a fold up option as well. (I should look at mine again since I have this kit in the stash). You went to town on the details. Just simply amazing helo.
Thanks for sharing.

Very COOL Allen!

Awesome job!

Happy New Year!!! [:D]

USCUSN.
If you have the Hasegawa or Revell AG kit. It gives you the option to build the rotor either way.
And ALLAN. Very nice!!!

Very nice job! Looks just like the one Sikorsky had at an open house about four to five years ago.

That is one amazing job you’ve done. I’m very impressed.

Superb finish and I especially like the subtle panel lines. I have the same kit that I dare not approach because I am afraid I would mess it up. You give me courage!

Borislav

Excellent job Allan! I’ve got that kit in my stack and I see it builds into quite a model in the right hands!!

Eric

Allan, what did you use to rig down the prop blades? It looks like fine thread. How’d you get that little triangle at the top? Good job, man!

very nice job, mate! I’m a RAN aircraft tech on Westland Sea Kings.I have the conversion set to convert this kit to an Aussie Sally.I like the job you did displaying the rotors folded.

Thank you guys! Am glad you liked it.

Chuck,
Randie’s right. The kit has the fold-up option. The tail is molded separately so you can fold it as well. However, you would have to cut plastic card for the interior detail of the tail boom. I didnt use any detail sets on this. The details were made from scratch.

Shamrage,
Thanks! I followed my wife around picking up fallen hair. Seriously! I first used fine wire to make those “triangles” you see attached to the blade. I attached the hair strand to the “triangle” and inserted the other end to a copper wire ring I attached to the tail wheel strut and pulled the blades down before making a knot.

A little bit of love in every model… Way to incorporate your wife in the hobby! [(-D]

Excellent job Allan! I like the way you detailed the inside of the tail boom. Very nice indeed.

Thanks, Tango. That kit did give me quite a work out, but the results are quite satisfying. [:)]

Top notch job Allan. Thanks for the peek.

Dave,

Am just happy you guys liked it. Thanks for the compliment! [:)]

Now that’s a beautiful Seaking!

Truly 1st class work, allan-san!! I was considering getting one of those kits, now I just HAVE to pick one up!! ( Road trip to Parco, J-Hulk?? LOL )

J-Hulk & Lodni_k,

Thanks! We have Parco here too. Do they carry model kits there?

Sure do!! Just picked up a Hasegawa 1/48 A-7E the other day in Chippy markings. ( Hi, my name is Calvin and I’m a holic!! ) Yeah, it’s pretty much my favorite place to shop. The Starbuck’s a block away helps, too!
