Hello folks. I always have a problem about Hasegawa kit is that sometime I really cannot tell if a kit is a re-tooled, new-tooled, or repacked kit once when they get a new box-art. For example, Hasegawa has a new retooled A6M2 Zero with new box-art and is superior than the older A6M2(different box-art) made in the 70’s(this also applied to the P-51D). While they have different box-art and decal on the Mig-17, the spure are old(the same applied to F-6F Hellcat and many others). I once even had a 1/32 Me-109E using their 1/48 ME-109E box-art on it[%-)][%-)]. My question is, is there a way to tell? Thanks.
If I am interested in a new kit coming out, I always watch for the “first reviews” that generally come out in magazines and on the web forums… They usually indicate if a kit is new or a “repop”… Most of the new stuff coming out in odd scales such as 1/32 and 1/24 are brand new or new retools.
