Hasegawa Lunadiver WIP

Heya, Folks,

Finally some updated and somewhat better pix:

Still lots more work to do… Been playing around with adding some red and yellow to the cockpit area — I know I need to make those colors flat, then add some weathering, etc. etc. but it’s a start… Started to weather with Mig pigments, Panzer Gray and Ashes White, also mixing the two to tone down the white.

I think the white might be a little too contrasty against the black. Also added a Detail Master grey wash, which pretty much disappears… I have a “rust” Detail Master wash I have yet to try. Added some Mig Rust pigment below the tail boom, which I like (but is hard to see). I have Thinking of trying out brown-ish, possibly yellow ochre pigments when I can get to it.

Lastly, gotta try to get the burns back on the engine bells and other areas where they kind of disappeared…

Thanks, folks!

Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

[:D[ All one can say about this Lunadiver. I am a BIG MIG FAN, I luv their complete line of goodies and use every chance I can get. The only down side, I drop a wad every time I buy sum of the stuff!!! It is not cheap, but hey dude, where else can you get African dust yellow? I also use and like their filters. Rest assured my Island friend, I will refer to your photos many times as ref when I get enough nerve to tackle mine. I like everything you did to this bird.[H]

[:D[ WOW!

I’m currently wrapping up my own Lunadiver, and mine is a 1 compared to your perfect 10…I didn’t even bother to fill out the interior…

awesome work!!

Heya, Klik and Gunpla,

Thank you both for the kind words… Honestly, I couldn’t tell ya if this is a great job or not, I’m just happy that I am the weathering and final(ish) paint stages.

By the way, I had decided to add to the interior only when I thought that this would be a relatively straightforward build — man was I off the mark! :open_mouth: And don’t go selling yourself short, Klik! I truly appreciate the kind words, but I’d love to see what you’ve done with your Diver, hokay? No judgements, bruddah! Kudos going out just for getting this one finished (and staying out of rehab)…

Lookin’ forward ta seein’ your Diver when you get to it, Gunpla — prepare yourself for some headaches and lots of filler my friend!

More to follow next week when I can find the time to weather or paint, but I’m abit under the weather at the moment…

Have a great weekend, amigos!

Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B,

OK now let us see the sucker, I bet you did better than you think, we are our on worst critics. Anyone who even completes one of these putty monsters has achieved a task many fail to do, complete. Com’on, I triple, double dog dare ya!!! PHOTOS [;)]

Sweet! I like the little touches of red against the metallic black, gives a nice contrast.

Any chances of a closeup of all that cool scratchbuilt detail in the pit area?

Ditto to what Cosmic J said with this added request, lets us see what you did to the stand as well!

I triple, triple, double, double dog dare ya to post photos, and everyone knows you can’t back down from a triple, triple double, double dog dare. U Skeeeeeerd!

My Lunadiver…well, I’ll let you decide. If you want to see pics, I have it posted under Groupbuilds, under the Maschienen Krieger Groupbuild. You’re welcome to join us on the Groupbuild. I am sure that everyone else on the build will welcome your Lunadiver to the build. I know I would love to see you there.

Oh, what the heck, here’s mine, hasn’t changed since I took this photo:

Oh you will grasshopper, but first I must look @ the wonderful builds and get ideas, just like we discussed on the other thread about your most unusual camo pattern, of which I am most impressed. Just wanted you too realize your build is as good as any others here. So now can be seen on both channels my friend-san.

The Hasegawa Lunadiver is not for the faint of heart and as I have always thought of it, a hard model to construct, but if you complete and paint, impressive, regardless of the configuration you build.

[Y] [Y][Y] thumbs up for taking the dare and meeting the challenge from the Gunpla Master
