Hasegawa Ki-84 Frank - 1:32

Hi folks:

Here’s Hasegawa’s beautiful 1:32 scale Frank - from the box.

A full build can be seen here: http://agapemodels.com/?p=262

Decals were restricted to the tail, walkways and filler caps; the rest were sprayed.

Best regards

Well now! Take this from a coffee swilling Yankee, “Dang-Sweet job! Looks real.”

…but could you add a little depth to your kit review?! Good-gawd you’ve done up a novel!

Steve-

An absolutely gorgeous build! Those are my favorite markings for the Ki-84, and you have done a beautiful job on yours. My hat is off to you and your skills, you have really raised the bar with this build. I will be certain to check out the build report over at Jon’s place. [;)]

Again, jaw-dropping build there, thanks for sharing it with us. [bow]

Steve: You’ve really captured the realsim here. The weathering, satin-flat finish and worn paint effect is tremendously done.

NICE!!! I likey!

Ah, yes, very well done.

Raptors AND WWII Aircraft?!?!??!?!?

You are very good at this. Again, thanks for sharing.

Bill

Very nice Steve [tup]. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Thanks for this - you spotted the frustrated writer / journalist in me then…lol.

Hi:

Thanks for this - the kit’s an easy build and a full on pleasure to mess about with on the paint front.

Only thing I can say is beautiful job![tup]

Hi Bill:

I need to add armour and sci-fi to the list. If it’s plastic - it’s all good…lol.

Thanks again.

Cheers Rick!

Thanks mate!

Truly stunning…and inspiring to boot. I will be referring back to these pics when build my Frank.

Mornin’ mate, (er… afternoon for you…) [:)]

I hadn’t purused this one in a while, and I had forgotten just how good it is. Yours is one of the best examples I have seen of a weathered Japansese aircraft… the paint chipping is restrained and occurs where you would expect it to. Too often an enthusiastic builder will just cover the airframe in silver splotches, but not you. No surprise there. [;)]

Did you lay down Alclad under the green and then go back and expose it, or use some other method?

Also interested to know what you used for the insulator beads on the antenna wires.

Kev

Hi Kev:

Thanks for this - Xtracolour Gunmetal was brush painted over the camo - insulators are white oil paint mixed 50-50 with Liquin.
