I was well into the closing portion of my Hasegawa Harrier Gr. 7 built when I fitted the canopy to the frame. As I suspected it was about 1+mm wider than the frame. Those who built the Hase Harrier, did you have this as well? I hope I can find an AM to replace it.
Would forcing it to fit work? You could glue down one side, let cure and then use tape to force in the other side for gluing… might cause a misalignment at the top edge, though.
In the same vein of forcing it to fit, how about measuring the needed distance at the front & back of the canopy, cut some scrap spruce to use as spreaders and then with the spruce inserted in the canopy, maybe dip in hot water for a few moments? I would test with an old/scrap canopy first, but I’ve used hot water & hair dryers in the past to ‘massage’ parts.
I generally resort to modeling it open.
I had no problem, did you slide it down the rail?
My problem is there is a separate canopy frame where the clear canopy which is wider is supposed to be attached.
I see, you know if you post a picture of the parts, I am sure someone maybe myself could suggest something as it would be easier to really solve the problem with an image.
I’ve built 14 Hasegawa Harriers, never had a problem with the canopy. Maybe you got a warped part?
