My 4th model. I was happy enough with the results to share them. The kit overall was very good with the exception of the lack of holes on the bottom of the fuselage to mount the fuel tank. It was fun, however, to drill them manually. It forced me to build outside the box and I welcome those challenges more and more as I build more kits.
It sits in an Amex case where I got a little creative and printed a picture of the real plane in flight as well as the aircrafts spec’s.
Hey Se7eNE,
Over all great build as well for the presentation. MMMMMmmmmmm, I am not knocking your build at all but did you by chance forget to paint the rear tire/wheel and assembly. It could just also be the way the pix was taken.
Again great job. Gotta love the ol Corsair.

Good eye, Butz. It was a flaw I didn’t notice. I can’t even think of how it happened. It may have been when I tapped it with a satin dull in an experiment gone awry(which came off thankfully with a wet cloth rag).
Hiya Se7eNE,
MAN, when I came back to your thread and saw that the rear assembly was painted, at first I thought I was seeing things. But when I read your reply post and you fixed, I felt a hellava lot better!!![:p][;)] I hate when that happens[:0]
Again great build.

Nice job, and nice presentation ! You also did a good job with the checker decals. They can be tough, as misalignment will show. Yours appear to be straight as an arrow.
Well done !
Beautiful bird mate. I also like the “museum” that you have built for the Corsair, it’s a good idea. What’s your next project?
Keep up the good work!

A really poor quality 1/72 F-5 kit by PM Models. I wont buy that brand again. I guess since I only paid $4 for the kit I shouldn’t have expected anything less. I had to do quite a bit of seam filling. The sprues on the Hasegawa kit were really strong and well made compared to this flimsy set. It was a total of 2 sprues with like 12 pieces on the F-5. It doesn’t even have a real cock-pit. No instrument panel and the seat was just flat plastic with no detail. I cut out the supports and used an AM resin ejection seat that sits in the cockpit all by itself hehe…
I decided to use it as a test kit for some camo patterns. Only went 2-tone on it with some left-over grey and navy blue. I figured I would try a tiger stripe pattern. The bottom was white, which was easy to mask off but I had some minor splatter get past me in some spots.
It came out good but not as perfect as I’d have liked it. I also find that painting things according to your own creativity takes away the fun-factor in perfect replication of real-life counterparts. I found that I enjoy mocking a real aircraft as opposed to winging it on my own creativity. Makes searching for reference materials on the net an egg-hunt. Good practice run though and considering how poor a quality the kit was it was fun having to overcome the flaws with hard work and determination. Not to say it came out great(in my own worst critique).
I’ve seen Red Flag paint their aircraft in aggressor patterns so we’ll just lump this kit into that category and fail to mention the red stars
Still have to mount the nose sensor and guns then I’ll shelf it.
awesome job on the Corsair, easily beats out the one i did a few years back, the museum display is a real nice touch, it adds just the right amount of flavor to it so to speak. The F-5 actually looks pretty good as well. nice work all around[tup]
Love the Corsair. I built the same kit a while ago, but it had an unfortunate run-in with some bad flat coat. Went downhill from there… (It was a pretty nice kit though…)
