Hasegawa F-15E Completed!!!

Today I managed to finish my Stirke Eagle. This is part of a Build Along we are doing over on Scalehobby. You can follow the thread on:

Other than some silvering on the decals, I am very pleased with the results. Have a peek…

She’s a beauty John. Nice all around. The displays inthe pit look great.

Looks very “intimidating”. You’ve done well depicting the F-15. I can’t look at the pics too long, though, or I might come over to the “dark side” (jet aircraft).

Well Done

Thanks for all the kind words guys! This was a fun build and I am thinking of trying to get another one done before the build along ends! Does it look too clean???

Personally I’d say it’s not too clean as it’s done up as the first production F-15E, and the roll-out bird wouldn’t be too dirty for the media, etc. I have the exact same kit and haven’t decided on whether or not to use the stock No.1 bird decals, but seeing yours makes me think that I’ll stick with them… something about the black eagle on the tail… A bang up job by far John…

Awesome!

About the silvering on your decals: did you use Microset / Microsol?
I had my first experience with this stuff on my last build, and WOW!

I used Microsol. I also made sure that I had lots of water under them before applying them. I built this kit before and remember having a lot more problems with them. It could be the decals, or me…
