The fat man brought me the 72nd scale Hase. Beau this year. Anything I should be careful of before I dig in? Thanks in advance!
It’s a very straight forward build, no real vices that I recall. Mine had metal castings for the exhausts which worked out very nicely.
Regards, Rick
Its a very nice kit, I managed to pick one up brand new from a second hand shop and it was an excellent kit in terms of fit and detail.
Hey Justen,
Like the others have mentioned, she is a stright forward build. But for some reason the engine nassels stick out in my mind b/c of some fit issues. The last part could be from a totally different kit. I’ll look into that though.
Flaps up, Mike
Hey Rick,
You said you got metal exhaust with yours. I think I got jipped. I have the RAAF mk.21 which, if I’m not mistaken, had the weird looking spikey cooling fins. My kit had the straight pipes. Maybe not all of them had those type? I guess I should pick up some references[D)]. Do you remember which version you built?
Thanks for the help!
A really fine kit. Mine fell together almost by it self. And the metal shrouds make it stand out in the crowd
The one I built was the Mk X. I don’t know whether the other kits included the metal parts, but they did help.
Regards, Rick
I haven’t built that kit, but I can give you some info on the MK.21 beaufighter. They did use those spikey exhausts, they were usually called hedgehogs. You might be able to get some resin ones like I did for my 1/48 build. I know someone who makes resin bits for beaufighters, but I’m not sure if he does 1/72 stuff. I’ll ask him and let you know.
If you want some research, here are some pics from hyperscale of a Mk.21.
