Hasegawa B-25H Mitchell...Help

Hi everyone,

Just started the Hasegawa B-25H and need some suggestions, as this is a bit more complex than I’ve built so far (or in a lonngggg time). My questions are:

  1. For the interior: better to paint all the fittings (ammo cans, seats, floors and bukheads, etc) before installing them? Install all of the above and then paint?

  2. Any fit issues? I’ve read a couple of reviews so I know some of the things to beware of but has anyone come across others?

  3. Canopy/Clear parts (turrets, etc)…mask and glue onto the fuselage and paint or mask and paint seperately?

So far I’ve just test fitted the major pieces like the bomb bay/cockpit floor and taped up the fuselage; taped up the nacelles/cowling/engine assembly; and did the same to the wings. So far I like what I see, and know where I want to go, just don’t know for sure how to get there. Thanks in advance for any help anyone could provide!

I find it’s easier to paint the sub assemblies first then glue them in the proper positions. If you are painting your kit with an air brush it is best to fit and mask canopy on the aircraft. If your are hand painting the canopy it might be best to do it before fitting.

Check in your old issues of FSM about a year ago they reviewed the kit. If I remember corectly the kit had no fit problems according to the builder. Alot of the interior detail cannot be seen when model is completed.
