Hasegawa 1/48 P-40E - New Images

I stole this from another forum, and I ain’t ashamed of myself…

They’ve definitely left themselves open to kit something other than the P-40E and N. I was hoping they might get some Merlins out of this but it looks like they’re only going to be able to do the P-40M and P-40K. Then again, you never know…

From the breakdown of the kit, which looks great BTW, I would agree with you. The N has already been announced & the additional tooling for an M & K would be minimal. But the Merlins would require a new front fuselage, so they probably wont be in the line up any time soon.

Nice, eh?
I knocked over a stack of 'em at the LHS last week trying to get to the armor kits!

Wish you could have kicked a few into my stash [:D].

Hmmm… they giving discounts for ‘damaged goods’?? [:p]

I am really lookin forward to this release… I did not think the release date was this early?
I thought that they were talking about an April or May release…

Last I heard was March but it may very well have changed… again…

But the kit is out in Japan and that’s probably where this image came from. There were also images of the instructions but I can’t get excited about instructions. Besides, what do I need instructions for? It’s a P-40!!! [:p]

More stolen material… [;)]

Although there are a few small things I already kinda dislike, I’m still drooling! From the looks of the gun inserts I’d say they’ve also left themselves open to kit a P-40D and an early four-gun P-40N.

I’m grinnin’ ear to ear… [:D][:D]

OOOoooooo BOY, Steves drooling again…!![:p][;)] The last time I saw him drool like that was over some Cheese Cake and so I am guessing this kit is at least a 8 or higher…!!
Lookin forward to getting my hands on a few[;)] SO Steve, what are some of the flaws??

Cut it out Steve. I’m droolin so bad I need a bib [:)]. Gonna have the LHS reserve me a couple.

You folks can also go to here:

Scroll down to the ‘New Item List’ ,click the Hasegawa 1/48 P-40E Warhawk. There you will find the instruction sheet (assembly guide) there.

Now THAT’s some beautiful molding!!! [:o]

Take care,
Frank

That IP alone beats almost any AM piece. Okay - I want one real bad.
Some of the parts break down kinda remonds me of the Academy P-47D.
(pulls out mop and starts wiping pools ‘o’ drool offen da floor)

And Steve-O, it ain’t stealin - It’s creative dissemination of information

Well, that’s how I see it… but I just remembered… I’ve nothing to worry about because I have a special dispensation from the Queen to appropriate material as I see fit… weeeeeeeeeee!!! [8-]

Just picked her up the other day from my LHS. It really is a great looking kit and the PE belts it comes with are a great bonus. Can’t wait to get to her in a year after I finish a couple other builds I am working on.

I’m impressed, I thought it might be a copy of the AMT’s or AMTech’s, because Hasegawa has been known to rebox Revellograms kits for the Japanese market, also if you’ll look at the gun ports for the wings I think they’ll do an F/L because most P-40L’s only had 4 50’s not 6 50’s, so this might be a good sign, and all they need to do is make a different fuselage sprue for the F/L series

I sure hope they kit some Merlins, but I wouldn’t bank on it based solely on the gun inserts. The P-40D/Kittyhawk I and early P-40Ns had only four guns.

The sprue holding the forward fuselage has pretty much all the relevant parts on it, though, so who knows. In any event, a P-40E, K, M and N will hold me for a bit… so I can wait for a Merlin.

Now I just wish someone would do a Tomahawk and get it right…

The LHS just called to tell me my reserved kit has arrived [:)].

I’m expecting the preferred shop here to have it maybe Monday, but I’m also checking all the others almost daily. I haven’t been this excited about a kit in… a long time…

Steve, how about a P-40 Group Build ? Seems like you suggested one in your prior life [:)].
