Hasegawa 1/32 F-86F Sabre Finally Finished

This one has been sitting in the closet for the past 2 years screaming "finish me, finish me!? So finally relented and finished it last month.

Used the old KMC cockpit set, the rest is out of box. Alclad II & I and MM metalizer paints. Eagle Strike, Cutting Edge and kit decals.

Cheers,

Beautiful model, clean and detailed! Looks like it’s ready to fly.

Looks fantastic. I really fancy doin a chrome looking model. Maybe a mustang. The finish on yours looks the biz. Congrats mate…Superb

Great job on a great aircraft. Very nice finishing.

[C):-)]i especially like the detail in the cockpit. speaking of chrome, the mustang is a reccomendable bird.

Excellent work on the F-86. The NMF looks great.

A truly lovely, crisp model of my favorite jet fighter. My main field of interest really doesn’t center around jet fighters (although my father flew plenty of them as a colonel in the USAF), but admit to having a weak spot for the Sabre.

Yours is a beautiful example. Cheers.

Outstanding build, great finish and beautiful photos.

Great job especially the cockpit.

Jerry-

Great job on that NMF! I can only hope my feeble attempts at it will look as good as yours!

Interior looks great too!

Nice job on the Sabre, Jerry! The cockpit and NMF are excellent.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. Appreciated. Now on to the 1/32 Tomcat and 1/48 Intruder. Maybe I can get those two finished sooner and not let them sit around for 2 years.

Cheers…Jerry [C):-)]

Beautiful Sabre. Can you share some insight about the old Hasegawa kit? How did it go together for you?

VERY nice job on what still today may be the cleanest, best looking fighter of all time.

Being the old Hasegawa kit I was surprised how well it went togather. Really had no major problems. The only area that took quite a bit of putty and sanding was the seam in the nose intake area. I did not assemble and and put in the engine. The fuselage front and rear sections fit togather perfectly with just a slight seam to indicate that that was where the fuselage seperated. Fuselage to wing fit was tight and did not require putty. Kit cockpit is okay but I had two of the old KMC pits and they are much better. Really improved the looks of the office and fit in nicely. I think the KMC set are still available but not sure through who.

Cheers,

Very nice !

That is one beautifull model. I love it. Great job.

Just curious: How big is that plane? Lenght and wingspan?

Thanks, Jerry. I appreciate the first hand knowledge. I’m looking into buying this kit, and attempting the C&A resin conversion to an “H” variant. Sounds like a nice kit, despite the age. You certainly showed it can be built into a winner. I love the “Mig Alley” espisode of Dogfights on the History Channel.

Wow! Thats a great build![tup]

Very nice work on the cockpit and the NMF, well done.
