I’m selling mine on evil bay at the moment. Had some guy make me a ridiculously low offer on it. When I politely declined and suggested he check e-bay USA to see what sellers were asking for this kit, he e-mailed me back and said it had been re-released in the states and would buy one from a wholesaler. Is this bunkum or what ? Anybody heard anything ?
Read where it was released by Revell back in '03… I saw one at my LHS last week for 27.50.
As far as I know there has been a lot of jabber hoping that Monogram would rerelease it in order to bring the prices to a more conservative level. I too have one that I was thinking of selling but have yet to put it up on eBay instead keeping it in my stash until someone has a trade that is attractive to me.
With the reintroduction of the B-17 and (A)C-47 which knocked the outragous prices of previously released kits down dramatically. Availablity definitely affects pricing.
2003 was the last reissue. I doubt that it will be up on the rotation for another three to five years yet. I have heard nothing from Revell that they are even thinking about another reissue of this kit right now. They are having enough difficulty getting the budget to reissue the B-17F. Currently I think this kit is selling on Evil Bay for as much as $90.
I hear ya Gerald - thanks for the reassurance guys - I’ll sleep easier tonight- already got a bid of $70 anyway. Now if only they would re-pop the old AMT Valkyrie in 1/72 !
Tell him to take his “offer” and stick it! I am pretty sure he was trying to scam you about the rerelease to get you to drop the price. if i had one it would be on eBay. Let the action go and wait. i am sure there will be a biding war in the last minute and you can put some nice coin in your pocket!

I trade my last B-70 away for a F-16CJ…I could bring myself to wrestling with that “thing”.
Well guys, looks like it is being rereleased, Sprue Bros. started taking preorders on it today for $34. Looks to be out in 4th qtr 08.
uh, oh, good feeling just evaporated…find a happy place…find a happy place !!
No offense to those with this on eBay but $285 Buy it Now is ridiculuos. I love the plane and glad to see they are doing an affordable reissue
oh geez, now I got people e-mailing me asking is it true this kit is available on pre-order for $35.
what am I, the freakin’ information desk ? [banghead]
The notice from Sprue Bros was a real SHOCK to me when I read it. One thing going for you now is it still isn’t available yet.
I saw the notice at Sprue Bros and I know why the Sprue Bros watermark is on the picture but why is Stevens International on it?

Two possibilities…they paid to have the kit rereleased or they are the point of import from where ever it was produced…possiblily Revell of Germany.
From what I’ve read over on another popular modeling forum, Stevens Int. is paying Monogram to produce the kits. Post went on to say this is not a new practice for Stevens.
Ish
Well I ended up getting AU$80 for mine and was probably lucky to get that. This re-release could not have happened at a worse time for me. The news that the XB-70 Valkyrie is getting re-popped cheered me up considerably tho…

What they are doing is nothing new. Stevens is one of the worlds largest distributors-importer/exporters of models in the world. If they feel the ability to sell 5000 Monogram Prowlers, they put in the order for them. For Monogram, it’s not a gamble - the kits are sold. This actually happens with alot of re-releases of old molds.
I have had buisness dealing with Stevens in the past, believe me - they listen to modelers! Even if you can’t voice your opinion directly to them, that are listening [;)]
Ah yes, I got two of em stashed away for a rainy day… I hear that and not to really got off topic but Revelogram has the thoughts of re releasing some older kits w/ a twist… Retooling them, cleaning up the detailing & engraving the panel lines… Ones that were mentioned were the B-26, B-17 and the P-80…
If this is true… it would be great to see them put the works on the ol Prowler for sure…!!
Flaps up,
Mike

Maybe throw a yellow tinted canopy in for good measure too since all the Prowlers I’ve seen had the gold tinted canopies.
