I bought some goodies from them to hold me over till my airbrush arrives…I asked for 1 Medium bottle of Gunze Mr. Thinner and I receive a bottle of Alclad Duraluminium? [|(] Then, I asked for Micro-SOL and i get Micro-SET [#dots] Then i bought some of those pretty little Humbrol “tinlets” and it doesn’t even tell me how to get the lid off! [:(!] (By the way, how do you get them off?)
I can understand Micro-Sol & Micro-Set being mistaken, but Gunze Mr. Thinner and Alcad Duraluminium don’t even look similar!\
The tinlets need to be pried open. Don’t try to lift the lid from one spot only, but work your way around them lifting carefully. You don’t want to distort the lid.
Haven’t had your problem.
You open the tinlets as you would an ordinary paint can: You pry them up.
I’ve used these pretty much interchangeably for years.
Same way you’d open a can of house paint…carefully place the edge of a standard screwdriver under the lip and apply pressure to the handle. The lip is much stronger than the seal and you can close it back up with finger pressure. The seal is so tight, I had some Humbrol for over 15 years and it was still usable.
Mine finally gave up the ghost at around 30 years. If I still used enamels, Humbrol would be my first choice.
Last time I dealt with Squadron, their customer support was pretty good. Give them a try.
I"m not that disappointed i mean…You can do a lot more with Alclad than you can with thinner…And i paid for thinner but i got Alclad even though it costs more [:D] These are my first Humbrol paints…I thought I’d try them to see how good they really are
If you ever have a problem with a order just give them a call and they are good at fixing any problem you might have
