I don’t think J-hulk builds, he’s too busy posting [:)]. But whats wrong with a B-36 in his sig ?
Regards, Rick
Nothing wrong! Just unexpected! [8D]
I wondered if anyone would notice![:D]
Well, ya know, I’ve always built pretty much everything, just the last few years have been mainly armor.
Rick is right, though…I haven’t built anything at all lately! This year, only that BMP-3, last February…sad!
I picked up the supercool 1/144 Hobby Craft B-36D a coupla weeks ago, so I’ve immersed myself into researching that big fella…what an interesting history that mammoth bird had. I also tried to find the film “Strategic Air Command” here in Japan, and discovered that it was never released here, neither in the theaters, on video, nor on DVD. Strange, considering that practically every movie ever made can be found here!
Not to fear, armor fans: just today I picked up the 1/72 Airfix Mk I Male and 1/72 Emhar Mk IV Female WWI tank kits at the LHS…both kits for 600 yen each (about $5.50 USD). What a bargain! Or is it…they’re usually marked way up here in Japan. Anyway, just more buying…no building!! Help![:p]
So, I just thought I’d mix things up a bit by using that beautiful shot of a B-36D in my sig…plus ya’ll were pretty sick of seeing my ol’ E-100 for the last two years, weren’t ya?[;)]
Aha! That kit of the B-36, not the mammoth Monogram one! Cool, I’m already looking forward to seeing your progress on that big bird!
Cool, too, about the WWI tanks. The Airfix is apparently more a Mk.II by the way. I have some info on that if you’re interested. The new(ish) Osprey book on the early rhomboid tanks is pretty good too!
And about that movie, maybe it was not released at the time because it (strategic bombing) was a bit too close to hearts in Japan at the time…?
Yup, there’s no room in my little Japanese apartment for the monstrous 1/72 Monogram B-36! Heck, the 1/144 Hobby Craft B-36 is plenty big enough.
Yep, I went to the Landships webpage and found all I need to know about the Airfix Mk I (or II…or III!) and the Emhar Mk IV. And there I was, thinking I could relax and enjoy a quick build OOB…but that’s a story for another forum, eh?
