Has anyone used MM's Metalizers before?

If so, should I prime the model before hand? If yes, then with what color? I am planning on doing a NMF for my F-86d and was planning on using Metalizer’s non-buffing aluminum

Do not prime before metalizer. Instead, make sure the model is completely free of scratch marks or these will show in the finish. If you prime, the finish will be as grainiy as the primer coat.

Thanks for the information!

And don’t forget that you can’t mask over the stuff using tape. It’ll lift up easier than anything. I did a P-51 using Testors MM paints. It turned out great. To mask off certain panels I used the old trick of using wet newspaper to mask off certain panels. That worked the best.

I’ve used it and like the way it sprays and looks. HOWEVER, you MUST seal it with the metalizer sealer before you mask and/or add additional colors on it. It will lift with tape like Eric said if you don’t seal it . Even though it says non-buffing, there is a very fine residue that remains. I would also recommend you lightly polish it with a soft cotton rag prior to sealing it. This will remove most of the residue and give it a more metallic sheen.
