Certainly! He was my DI at Lackland. I think I ran into him again as an instructor at Missile Tech School at Sheppard. Wasn’t he also the IG OIC for the SAC ORIs?[alien]
Saw him hanging around the Aircraft Maint squadron at Plattsburgh AFB inthe 80’s. Gotta be dead by now!!!
I think I saw him (or maybe it was one of his relatives) on a poster for sale at the Air Force Museum some years back. The caption on it was “Sleep tight, America: your Air Force is awake.” I gave a copy to a friend who’s a retired Air Force colonel. He hasn’t spoken to me since.
Yardbird - When did you go to the Missile school at Sheppard Airplane Patch? I went through the Titan School in 1968 - 1969.
You are all correct - Especially jtilley. He must have had his picture posted all over the Air Force. Much like the quote from the 1898 Army Officer’s Guide… " All enlisted men are dumb, but sly and cunning and bear considerable watching."

I saw him last week. He is the attendant at my local city dump/transfer station.

Isn’t it sad, the effects of G-force rocket sled experimentation.[V]
hey JForce when were you with the 380th my dad was with the Aircraft Maintenance Unit of the 380th from 1980 to late 1981. Ever heard of the incident about a mechanic working under a Jacked up F-111 jumping up and knocking himself silly when the hangar caught fire.
Saw the same photo as jtilley except the caption had Air National Guard instead of Air Force.
3764 School Squadron. Sept 1963-June 1964, Atlas F Guidance System
578 Strat Missile Sq, Dyess AFB, TX: June 1964-June 1965. The USAF phased out the D,E & F models of the Atlas and the Titan I in early 1965 and transferred me to Beale AFB for 12 years with the SR-71 program, then 2 years with 43 Strat Wing, Andersen AFB, Guam. 15 years as a S.A.C. Trained Killer. aka, one of Curt Lemay’s finest. [alien]
That guy was the Cheif test pilot at Eddies airplane patch when I was growing up
watching SkyKing on Sat morns!!! His picture was every where on the base then.
Can’t remember his name though,
Good Hunting,
