I’ve hit it a few times. Some interesting stuff back there really. Too bad they don’t have a function where you can set it by the beginning of a specific year.
Yeah I’m glad I started this, I’m off over to the Sci-Fi, I’m a regular over there.
Just out of curiosity, on the armour section is that really the first page ever, I only ask because I’m relatively new here.
Well I won’t be on again t’ill new year, and thats for the Star Wars GB. Looking forward to seeing Rob’s Gungan sub, wasn’t released here in Europe but barely remember seeing them in mag’s like kitbuilder and Amazing figure modeller.
Assume that is your way of saying this thread should be locked as it is in no way related to a community of model builders, but you seem to be forgetting that there is a key word in there. COMMUNITY. They were less of a community back then and it was all strictly business. No extranious shows of any extra emotions such as gratitude, just robotic like business. God forbid someone walking into work should ask how your day is, as it’s not work related.
This is a fairly close knit community, if you don’t like the topics, you have three choices, one is to whine like you are, two is to ignore the topics you don’t like, or three leave the community. Personally, I think you should go with option number two, and just ignore the topics you don’t like. Most people here, even the few who feel like you do, just ignore the topics they are not interested in. Some off topic stuff shows a sense of community and involvement. I wouldn’t trade any of Manny’s offtopics for anything. They may not be directly related to building an armor model, but they are indirectly related to the entire hobby, by making us think. Reminding us WHY we build, not just the act itself.
You can be a part of it or not, it’s your choice, but don’t get down on others for having a little bit of a friendly diversional discussion. If people didn’t want those topics here, they would not reply. My advice is to you is not to look at them, and to deal with it. Again though, your choice.
Chill dude and have another drink. [sigh] The comment was about something else other than this thread. I know my options and I clearly don’t need you to inform me of them. You’re more part of the problem getting on here with the personal attack. So much for free speech.
Follow your own advice and not look at these and deal with it. It’s your choice. [swg] (BTW, you misspelled extraneous)
Sorry if you thought it was a personal attack man. It wasn’t aimed squarely at you, I apoligize if youthought that was the case. As for spelling that wrong, yeah I know, I’m tired as can be right now and have two VERY sick small children. It has nothing to do with free speech, and I don’t bother to look at threads I have no interest in, but this one interested me.
It is easy to take things as a personal attack. I’ve done it before. Look at one of my firsts posts, I think it was regarding the M113 ACAV by Tamiya. I thought Gina was attacking me in a big way. I got defensive, but ended up blowing it off. Good thing too. While it caused me to not bother for awhile, I came back, and have learned since it wasn’t a personal attack. I’ve just understand now, that Gino is the virtual encyclopedia(way better info then buying a book LOL), and it bugs him a bit when things are way off. He pointed out some great corrections on my abrams which I implemented, and now my abrams looks right instead of goofy.
Part of the problem with text like this, is it’s tough to catch someone’s tone with it. If it were possible, you would have seen I wasn’t trying to portray an aggressive or hostile tone. I won’t hold it against you though.
Now to get this back on track, while most of the questions seem to remain the same, there is still quite a few that aren’t from back then, and alot of threads either way, that contain alot of good information. FSM should develop a better search engine, to allow a better search for the “archives” as it were. If you are searching for something, sometimes you can get 100 results, but they are all different posts, in the exact same thread. Most of my patience is when out fishing, or dealing with people when I used to do armed security. Not for looking through pages and pages of search results. LOL. Still overall the forum works great, but the search could use a bit of work. I know it costs money to do so, but perhaps there might be a volunteer or two willing to work on it in the forum who have the expertise? I would volunteer, but my programming skills are next to nil.
Hey, don’t back peddle on what you said and what you meant. When you quote someone and then continue to use the word YOU throughout the reply, whom else was it aimed at? [:D]
BTW, children (and 2 sick ones on top of that) can stretch anyone thin. Hope they get well soon. [angel]
