Hello, I have been trying to figure out if I have a proplem with my silverline ?. The brush sprays wonderfully really like the way it can paint small, But I have to fully break down the brush when changing color normaly while painting with different colors I clean the bowl and tip with IPA or air brush cleaner and carry on to next color but i cant with the silverline. There is paint that stays on the needle from just behind the bowl but there is no paint in the body from a bad seal, cant figure it out as I do not have this issue with any of my other brushes. any ideas or advice would be great Thanks. I had the Silverline and still have the AL plus and Infinity. I use enamels and have never had this problem, maybe because of my cleaning routine between colours, I always run a bit of thinner through the brush to flush out left over paint then put more thinner in the cup and use a soft humbrol brush to give it a good clean everywhere you can reach with the bristles, spray that out and do it again once or twice until there’s no paint obvious anywhere and the thinner stays clear.
Some use a pipette to suction thinner in and out of the cup but I like the brush myself.
I do this immediately after spraying, I never leave the brush with paint in it.

I feel for you! I had the same problem with mine when I had it and could never find a solution. I eventually went to Badger airbrushes and no problems like this at all. I think it is a design flaw.

Thought it was just me, maybe not based on the feedback here.
The compression nut at the rear seal (teflon) seems to not want to stay put which doesn’t help.
Here is a quote from my review of the Evolution.
“There is a narrow channel about an inch long from the cup area back to the needle seal that might be hard to keep clean. A pipe cleaner will fit as far as the cup, but it is too large to go in the channel. The smallest brush from my airbrush cleaning kit will fit, but it’s tight.”
Here is another.
“When I cleaned the brush, I flushed it well with water. Then I ran my modified dental brush up the channel to the needle seal and it came out really red. I had to swab it several times. I think this would be a good practice.”
Most internal mix airbrushes have some channel behind the cup. The Evolution’s is extra deep. I can see why Mick swabs his. Back flushing when you clean might help.
